Liam Brooks is a South West based artist currently living and working in Cornwall. His work navigates themes influenced by the unknown, ephemeral and what if. Taking forms of large scale sculpture and installation, Brooks's work is achieved through his process-led, research practice. Often connecting to the body and its state or presents within space and time, Brooks takes the audience as his focus and bends the medium through a way of experience.

“I use myself in representation of the audience when developing work, understanding how others will experience not just the work itself, but the meanings and relationships to the ideas explored within them. The audience to me is crucial to the work, as without them, the works simply become objects occupying space, and it’s only through them that conversations are opened.”

“I work through a process led research practice, because for me, it’s important to explore more than just one avenue around a subject matter, and in doing so believe it strengthens the meaning behind the work. The exploration process I find often develops the work further in more ways than one. Additionally I find that by displaying parts of the process, it allows the audience to connect to myself that little bit more, allowing them to see parts of my thinking.”
