Work Untitled 2, is the final resolved work of many tests and experimental pieces from a larger body of work that explored the boundaries of performance art, audience participation and sculpture through the use of dust sheets and their possibilities when used in new ways. Interested in the hypnotic movements and calming qualities when combined with air currents, Brooks later focused on the effect these elements had on the viewer.

“For the audience members who observed the work form outside, some found it calming and soothing to watch as the material rippled in the space. While others found it to be overwhelming and disorientating if they looked at it for too long.”

“As for the audience members who participated in the more performative aspect and went in to the work, many of them said they felt “light” and although confined “open or free.”
